The Educational Institution named Jagruti Shikshan Sanstha, Kumathe was established in 1985-86 at Kumathe, Tal – Tasgaon , Dist Sangli by the concept of Shri. Balasaheb Jagannath Patil . ( Kumathekar ) with the help of Kumathekar people and was registered on 13/01/1986. After that by government recognition Bal Vikas Mandir was started from 1986 and in 1995 it was merged into Z. P. Marathi Boys School.

In 1996 government recognized Vocational Education Certificate Course and 10 + 2 Vocational Educational Courses were started in Tasgaon , Dist – Sangli. But it could not get any grant nor response form that region. So the course was discontinued from 2001 by the Institute. Before that in 1999 the proposal were submitted by the Institute for the Kawalapur and Tasgaon High school and Primary school in Walneswadi, Kupwad and it succeeded. These High – schools and school were started in 1999 and they got grant in future. Then in 2004 got permission for Primary school and English Medium School in Tasgaon and Primary School in Sangli. Later these school’s were started. Later these Marathi Medium School’s got grant’s. The Shyam Bhadekaru Malakihakka Gruhnirman Sahkari Sanstha, Dist – Sangli, and Shilpa Bhadekaru Malakihakka Gruhnirman , Sahkari Sanstha, Dist – sangli gave our Institutes Land and Building in Kupwad and walneswadi and gave financial support. So today we see a great Institute like this. We are always thankful to these two Institutes. In 2006, the Institute started D.Ed. College in Sangli with the co – operation of all the people and donars.Suddenly the graph of our Institute changed towards a big success. Our honorable Management Committee have contributed unselfishly that’s why we have seen a successful Institute.

Today our Institute is running 7 branches, 4 Primary School, 2 High – schools and 4 Balvikas Mandir and still it is flourishing. In 2005 – 2006 Central School, Started in Sangli with government recognition and it is leading towards great success.
